The Beginning

The Olympian has been littering my entire neighborhood for many months. My live-in girlfriend has attempted to contact them numerous times requesting that they stop throwing their "free newspaper", a "newspaper" that amounts to nothing more than a bunch of advertisements, in our driveway and yard. They have said each time that they will stop and have yet to do so.

My independent research into this problem has led me to others who have complained to The Olympian with unsatisfactory results. They, like other newspaper entities, seem to consider it an expression of free speech to toss trash haphazardly into people's yards and driveways. Let me make it clear, I am a strong supporter of free speech and of the press and throwing crap in my yard DOES NOT QUALIFY. This is not an example of the careful placement of reading material on the doorstep or in my mailbox, this is tossing of paper and plastic litter into my yard.

The purpose and proposal of this blog is to advocate the boycott of The Olympian newspaper until they discontinue this practice entirely. This is not only a rude and unsightly act of spreading refuse across the landscape, it is an incredibly irresponsible waste of valuable resources and causes great harm to the environment. The Olympian needs to learn that it needs to stop this practice or people will stop buying their actual, for-sale product.

This blog will document interactions with this disreputable company and the course of our quest to be left alone in peace and without a littered yard.
